Hello Craig,

We’ve arrived home from our visit to Newfoundland, and just wanted to add to what we wrote in your guest book about the lovely home you let us use for part of our time there. I’ve stayed in many beautiful hotels and B&B’s both professionally and on holiday, and renting your home in Hearts Content was one of the best choices ever. You thought of everything that could make our stay extra special, lots of nice little thoughts that really made a difference. And whoever keeps it so clean and tidy for you is doing a wonderful job.

It really was idyllic and we enjoyed the experience very much. Among the things we brought home are great memories of Oceans Nest and the people of Hearts Content who were so nice to us.

Thanks again,

Jackie and Lloyd Turbitt

Bruce and Craig

Your house is absolutely lovely. Thank you for being so friendly and accomodating to us in planning our stay here, as we celebrate our family reunion . We are enjoying the comforts you have provided in this house. We felt so relaxed and at home .

Thanks a bunch....The Grant Family

wonderful stay

My mom, 2 aunts and I decided to have a girl’s get-a-way and just lucked out to find Oceans Nest. I had no issues with communicating with the owner Craig and received all the details by both phone and email. Upon our arrival in Heart’s Content, we we’re more than happy with our accommodations. It didn’t seem like Craig and Brian missed out on anything. For such a lovely old home, it still had everything you could ever need, the lovely silverware, to the fluffy white towels and extra linens and blankets, the large beautiful parlor and dining room and the full kitchen and laundry. The main floor bathroom with a stand up shower or the upstairs bathroom with a beautiful claw foot tub looking over the ocean. Even a large pot for boiling lobsters, including the utensils for breaking the claws. There were fresh muffins and fresh preserves and milk in the fridge. Tea, Coffee, Sugar and seasonings. Each room was nicely decorated and had very comfortable beds.

We are all talking about our next stay at Oceans Nest in Heart’s Content.

Thank you so much,

Wanda Maximilian, Joan Repluck, Jenny McGraph and Gloria Murphy"

Hello Craig and Bruce!

Just wanted to touch base to let you know how much we enjoyed staying at your beautiful home in Heart's Content this weekend!! Such a treat! You have done a wonderful job restoring and decorating the home and we especially loved all the quality special touches!! I will be telling all my friends about your little bit of paradise!! And Heart's Content is just the sweetest little community with the most gorgeous lighthouse on the Avalon!!

So sorry we did not get to Carbonear today to say hello...we had to get back to the city a bit early...however, we do hope to return is also an excellent place for a girls weekend so I will keep that in mind! Do you close up during the winter??

Good luck with the restoration of your future B&B in Carbonear...can't wait to see it when it is complete!!

Stay in touch!!! Let me know if you get on FlipKey and I will put in a 'glowing' recommendation for you!!

Best wishes for a happy and successful summer!!

Tranquility, and charm comes with this little cottage nest vacation . What  a wonderful hiatus it was from our busy lives in the big city.  Feel soothed by the sounds of the ocean and  the sights of seabirds overhead. I can't remember sleeping  so peacefully or feeling so relaxed.

Crag and Bruce are wonderful ambassadors of Newfoundland hospitality.

A warm heartfelt thank you to your both.

We recently stayed at the Ocean Nest and were really amazed by how beautiful the cottage was.  It was furnished with fine antiques, nicely decorated, meticulously cleaned, had excellent quality linens, and many extra special touches. We would highly recommend this cottage and we will likely be repeat customers ourselves.

My wife and I stayed at Ocean Nest cottage from July 2nd to July 5th, 2010.  When we arrived we really were amazed at how beautiful this house is! From the back deck with table and chairs and bbq down into the back yard with the rocking swing for two overlooking the stunning vista of the harbour, it really is something you have to experience. When you move into the house itself it gets even better. This house has been decorated and furnished with the finest of antiques, furniture, and linens. Great care and pride has been taken to restore this house to its Victorian grandeur and Craig and Bruce go the extra mile to ensure their guests have a wonderful stay. We highly recommend Ocean Nest!

This is a beautiful and meticulously clean home.  You are sure to

enjoy your stay in this lovely cottage.  Don't forget to leave the porch

door open in the hall in the evening so you can enjoy the effect of the

outside lighted tree shining on the large stain glass inside.

Wonderful house to see and visit. Owner should be proud of what he has done to restore this beautiful home. Anyone  who visits will have a rewarding holiday not only for the house but also the area for one to discover.
